Room 7 has been focusing on "Persuasive Writing." We brainstormed for topics the children could argue for or against. Here are some examples from children who have published their work on the iMacs.
In my opinion I think kids should go to bed late because firstly, what if their favourite movie is on at 9:30 and you have to go to bed at 7:30. Not Fair!!
Secondly, how come adults can go to bed whenever they want? Again Not Fair!
Thirdly, adults can watch their favourite movie at 9:30, but not us. Yeah I think you know what I'm going to say.
Finally, kids just lie in bed for a long time while they drop off to sleep.
So I say kids should go to bed at 10.00pm.

"Kids should be able to have chewing gum at school."
In my own opinion I think kids should be able to have chewing gum at school.
Firstly, it is good for body-wise people. Body-wise people are people who like to move.
Secondly, sugar free chewing gum doesn't make people go crazy.
Thirdly, it keeps wriggly people not wriggly.
Finally, because people who be naughty just chew and not be naughty.
I think kids should always have chewing gum at school.

Stat Attack Cards.
In my opinion I think Weetbix cards should be allowed at school.
Firstly, you can play two different games, one which is a puzzle thats got 41 pieces. It includes the rules of the game. That's 43 pieces. There are 33 red cards, 8 legends, the coach and the rules of the game.
Secondly, if you don't want the cards you have got, you could trade. That's so fun!
Finally you will probably get the whole set. If I did I would feel so happy.
That's why I think we should bring cards to school. I hope all you All Blacks fans will get the whole set.

Why can't kids go to bed at midnight?
Have you ever wanted to go to bed at midnight?
Well I have, but only once or twice!
My first reason is what is the point of going to bed early?
Secondly, m- m- m- monsters go away at midnight!
Thirdly, your bed is warmer after one o'clock because thousands of teddybears come in your bed at night to warm it up.
Finally, it is easier to get to sleep!
